Downtimes / Writeups:
What follows is a template for Downtimes/Writeups. The closer you can
get to this format, the better. This makes the lives of your STs easier,
and is more likely to get you a decent response.
1) Writeup of last game session
"...Jimbo was even more confused when the Prince turned out to be
a a werewolf..."
This is a description of what happened at the game, what you thought
of the events, people, etc. from your character's perspective. It's entirely
optional how detailed you want to be. Note however that 5 pages of what
your character thinks of the Prince is not enough to earn you a downtime
XP if you're not then going to actually do anything about it in the following
section.
If you did anything that the ST team need to know about, put it in here,
even if you told them at the game.
2) Downtime Actions
This section is divided into three parts, although there will be some
overlap between them. This is the section that shows how cunning and wily
you can be and really earns you your downtime XP.
2a) Personal Actions
"Jimbo will write a letter to the Tremere Justicar:- Dear three-eyes..."
"Jimbo will send his apologies for absence to the next Primogen meeting
and deputise Emmylou to take his place"
This is a detailed list of what you want your character to do that month.
Please be specific as this will speed up processing. Also if you are doing
something in collaboration with other PCs please details this and have
them do the same.
2b) Influence Actions
This is the section where you make use of your influence points. How
you do this is explained in the UK Camarilla
Influence Guide, which can be found in the rules
updates section.
2c) Background Actions
"Mentor x 2: Jimbo will ask his mentor if the Inner Circle are really
after his blood"
"Allies x 5: Jimbo is going to have a go at the Prince and bring along
all his Black Spiral buddies"
This is a list of what you want to use your backgrounds for (except for
influences, which you should have already done). If you don't put this
bit in, we'll assume you're not using your backgrounds.
3) EXP spending
This is where you tell us what you want to spend your EXP on. If you
have enough EXP and it's nothing to strange, it shouldn't be a problem.
4) Current Haven(s)
Tell us where you live, even if it hasn't changed. If you have multiple
properties, tell us about them.
5) Current Hunting Method
Tell us how and where you'll be feeding this month. Even if it's the
same as usual (we don't need massive detail if it's the same as last time,
though).
6) Comments
6a) About game events:
Comments on the game (for use by the ST) eg fantatic plot but crap props.
6b) About game organisation:
Comments on the organisation (for use by the Herald)
eg why do we have to queue for 1/2 hour to sign-in, don't like the venue,
etc.
If you want to send me a writeup when you haven't attended a session,
that is still fine. We can probably find a dark and devious reason for
your character to be away, and if you can describe it in a fun and interesting
way (and even use it for your character's dark designs) then you can indeed
have the experience for the writeup. Obviously, you're going to skip section
4, but the rest is going to be pretty standard.
Communicating with other players
It is recommended that players have E-mail accounts that can stand the
odd message dropping in wibbling about vampires. Your character will be
assigned an in-character mailbox - something like "jimbo@runnymede.camarilla.org.uk"
and if someone sends mail to it, the mail will arrive with your character
name in the reply field. This means that you can send mail in-character,
and it also means that if your E-mail address changes, you need only inform
me, not thirty odd players.
Please use these mailboxes to communicate in-character.
There is also two announcement mailing lists, at ooc@runnymede.camarilla.org.uk and ic@runnymede.camarilla.org.uk for OOC and IC communications (respectively).
Think before you reply - any reply will go back to all the players or characters (where applicable).
If it contains your secret plans to overthrow the Prince, that will be
bad. So don't.
